weekly prayer

Heavenly Father,

As we step into this new week, we pause to lift our hearts to You in prayer.

We bring before You our nation and world. As we reflect this week on the anniversary of September 11th, we honor the memory of those we lost, hold close the families who still grieve, and give thanks for the courage of the first responders who served so selflessly. In a world that often feels divided or heavy with uncertain news, help us remember the unity, strength, and compassion that can emerge even in our darkest hours.

Lord, cover our country and global community with Your peace. Wrap Your hands of protection around those facing hardship, extend Your healing to those who are hurting, and give wisdom to our leaders.

Right here in our own neighborhood, we pray for our friends, families, and quiet moments of need. For anyone feeling weary, anxious, or lonely today, remind them of Your constant grace. Help our church family to be a steady light—a place where love, kindness, and hope are freely shared with everyone we meet.

Teach us to walk with patience, to speak with grace, and to love one another deeply this week.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” — Psalm 46:1

Praying for Our Church Two Minutes a Day!

We are asking you to pray for our church, for our continued growth, and for our continued outreach to the community and to the world.

Recognizing the importance of prayer.
How to begin this process, we are asking everyone in our congregation to hold the church in prayer, for two minutes a day.

 Two minutes isn’t very long.
 Anyone can do that, right?
 Standing in line,
 waiting for the bus,
while the gas tank is filling, you can find two minutes to offer a prayer.

What should I pray for, you ask.
Here is a brief outline:
Pray for-

   1.  Our church, that we may grow in spirit, and be guided and empowered by God’s Holy Spirit.

   2. Our church, that we may grow in outreach and mission, looking beyond ourselves to the community and world around us. We are here to serve God and others by looking beyond our own walls.

    3. Our church, that we may grow numerically, integrating new persons with new ideas into our fellowship and into the leadership of our congregation.

   4. Our church may grow financially, assuring adequate resources to carry out our work and fulfill our commitment to the denomination.

That’s how we will begin.          EASY!

We can do it, and we can start now, today, no equipment needed.  So do your part, two minutes, every day, pray for our church.  Let’s see what wonders God can work within us and within our church.
